Does your contractor have installation experience?
(This may sound like a dumb question, but
you would be surprised at how many contractors have no hands
on experience. Note; California Department Of Consumer Affairs
requires that a person applying for a contractors license
must have at least 4 years experience and perform their
trade at a journeymen level. (Being a salesman for another
roofing company doesn't count)
Does your contractor send a "salesman"
out to bid the job?
(If the representative of the company is
not the owner, guess what, your paying a commission on top
of the cost of the roof)
Does your contractor pay his employees by the
hour or by "piece work"?
(Generally speaking an employee that is
being paid by what he gets done instead of hourly is not
quite as conscious of quality, but rather how much money
they can make in a day.)
Does your contractor carry liability insurance?
NORTH BAY ROOFING DOES!
$1,000,000.00 (Don't take anybody's
word for it, ask to see a policy)
Does your contractor carry workers compensation
insurance for ALL his employees?
NORTH BAY ROOFING DOES!
STATE FUND POLICY # 285 001947-06
Will your contractor provide you with phone#
of past customers?
(This will not only show you the performance
of the company, but also pricing consistency.)
Why should you pay more per sq.ft.
than your neighbor
